Decisions
I have so many important decisions coming up like where will I go to college? What will I major in? What will I do with my life? But at the end of the day, I just praise God because He has already promised: I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 So I have no worries.

Denying ourselves
There are plenty of things we want on this earth: money, recognition, good grades, a lot of friends, awards, a great job, and the list goes on and on. When we achieve all these things, and reach our goals, the first thing we tend to think is “Yes! I did it”. We overlook that everything we do, everything we get recognition for, all our talents and blessing come from God so we should...

How Many Times I've Tried and Failed
I promised to be a better person by volunteering, not gossiping, remember to pray for my friends and family, but I failed. I promised I would help my parents out more and do more chores around the house, but I failed. I promised I would spend my time reading the Bible instead of going on the computer in hope of actually reading through the Bible once, but I failed. Everytime I tried doing all...

the same God
This weekend I went to another church with different building, different people, different messages, different ways of doing things, but the same God. Jesus doesn’t care about the building, he care’s about our hearts and worship. While we didn’t worship the same way or sing the same songs I know that we touched the same God and that’s the beautiful thing about being in love...

Joyfulness
We all have a tendency to cry and complain when things don’t go our way. While this is a natural reaction as even “Jesus wept” (John 11:35, shortest verse in the Bible), another short verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:16, says to “Always rejoice”! Because after all at the end of the day our lives aren’t so bad; we have food to eat, friends, and family, but even if we...

Ewww. Feet
Feet are usually considered gross, disgusting, and smelly, but for some reason, God wants ours. He calls them beautiful regardless where they have been or what they have done as long as they bring good news. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news. Isaiah 52:7 I don’t care about how cute my toes look or how pretty my shoes are, I want to put on the gospel...

what's my priority?
Sometimes it seems like everything comes before God. School, sports, watching TV, facebook, family and friends. Reading the Bible and spending time with God is usually on the bottom of my to do list-and if I manage to spend time with God, it’s always when I’m really tired late at night. But I need to remember that earthly desires don’t really matter in God’s eyes. An A+ is...

Joy in Jesus
School can be so hard sometimes. It is so hard to wake up at 6:00 every morning. It’s hard when you feel like everyone else at school is smarter than you are. It’s hard to get so much homework you feel like it’s humanely impossible to finish it all. It’s easy to forget that God’s promise that His joy is our strength. The joy of the Lord is my strength -Nehemiah 8:10 ...

When you call on Jesus
In moments where I feel so helpless and tired, I just call on the Lord. I have really just began to see a glimpse of how powerful God’s name is. In the halls during passing period when I am depressed because of a test score, I just call on his name. When I wake up I call on his name, when something good happens, when something bad happens, when I’m lonely, or when I feel so blessed, I...

the simplest prayer
I have to admit that sometimes I can get so angry at God; why did he let this happen? Why won’t he answer me? Why doesn’t he hear me? And sometimes I don’t want to love him. In moments where he just feels so far away and loving him is so hard, I really don’t feel like saying, Thank you God for all you’ve given me, or I love you God because it would be a lie. God loves...

Sleeping by Bible Verses
Some kids like sleeping with stuffed animals. I know I did. Whenever my dad would tuck me in at night, I would have every single stuffed animal I owned on the bed, and I had a lot. My stuffed animals would take up every inch of my bed, except the sliver I left for my self. I treated them like real people so I gave them the blankets and the pillow, and nothing for my self. Now that I’m older,...

Memorizing
In ninth grade a pastor told me an amazing story. There was this boy in elementary school who was the “dumbest” kid in his class. He was made fun daily because he was behind all the other kids, but he at least had Jesus. He decided one day to start memorizing Bible verses. 1 a day. 365 verses a year. And guess what? At the end of the year he was the smartest kid in his class. Everyone...
